I'm sharing a recent custom finish job. I plan to be more intentional about pictures of our projects this year. You know how it is in the beginning you take all the before, during and after pics... like your first child, and even second but then who has time for all that when number three comes along. Well thats kind of where I've been with the business over the last several months (or longer) keeping busy and in the thick of it all but not fully documenting. Besides, its not as easy as you may think to coordinate going back to a clients for a photo session after they have finished out a room months later with logistics, schedules, etc but it's always worth while and I'm going to be better about it. Who doesn't love a beautiful setting to compliment their work. I think I prefer to hold out and get those shots in a finished space, not my workshop.
This was a fun one to do because my client was such a delight and I came to adore her through the process of working together as I helped her with a few things. You just never know when you will make a new friend or connect with someone in a way that simply brings you joy. What a beautiful treasure she is from the inside out.
She knew exactly what she was looking for but could not locate it all in one... the style, size needed and finish she envisioned. So we decided to piece it together. Because she required a long narrow oblong table and wanted double pedestals, it was out of our scope for building it without certain machinery. However she located a company out of state, got it ordered unfinished and had me do the rest. With some convincing ;-) she agreed to let me have creative rein on the finish style once I knew what look she wanted for her room.
We absolutely love how it turned out and fits into her beautiful home. The room is long yet a bit narrow, not squared and one entire wall is open windows with natural light. White walls, authentic wood floors (unfinished) and simply stunning. It was an easy choice that a casual & elegant neutral theme would keep the space open and airy. It has a classic french farmhouse style that is ready to host any occasion.
So remember to think outside of the box if you have something in mind but can't find that specific thing, there are always options. If we can't build it for you or you choose to grab it elsewhere, we do specialize in custom finishing.
I am always honored and humbled by your generosity and willingness to let me work on your pieces. Thank you!!!
